Educational Learning Activities

Penni is a master teacher who creates science curriculum and activities for early childhood education. Recognizing her talents and her masterful teaching skills and abilities, the TRW Corporation sent her around the country to train teachers with her Project S.A.M.M. workshops.

Penni was hired by the Department of Defense to evaluate the interfaces and software tools created by the CAETI project (her Ergonomics For Kids report is available). Other curriculum she has developed includes WONDERlabs and Suitcase Science. For the Cleveland Children's Museum, Penni developed a wonderful exhibit about musical instruments entitled Music Out Of The Ordinary. The United States Geological Survey hired her to write What's Under Your Feet? -- an activity book for kids.

Penni captured her theory that people develop their vocational interest around the age of seven years old in a children's musical called At Seven(music and lyrics by Penni Rubin, book by Thea Iberall). The play was toured through the Toledo, Ohio school system by the Toledo Rep.

Articles that have been written about Penni include Start Young (from Science & Children, October 2002, Volume 40, Number 2) and A Kid At Heart (from Cleveland Plain Dealer Sunday Magazine, June 1998) and Your Yard in 500 B.C. (from Newsweek, June 7, 2004)

Articles by Penni include her Ergonomics For Kids Report, and her poem All By Myself.
