Diggers in Project SAMM

Project S.A.M.M. is an interactive, participatory, upbeat workshop that combines the arts and sciences in a way children can be totally immersed in the learning. Along with a slide show showing Penni's inexpensive manipulative tactile sandboxes and water tables with home-made equipment and learning toys, thrown into the mix are songs like "Trees", memory games like "Pack a Snack", and heart-felt stories of successes about kids who may otherwise be slipping through the cracks. She'll show you documented photographs of the marvelous WONDERlabs she has set up in schools and libraries to help families get in touch with the Arts & Sciences.

Penni found that many successful people today found their vocational interest when they were seven years old and believes that we must get the world into every child's hands by the age of eight. Purpose is to learn to make the world accessible to children by
  • Providing
  • Useful
  • Resources that
  • Promote
  • Observation skills
  • Stimulate creativity to gain
  • Experience.

The workshop helps in:

  • Building skills
  • Giving children choices
  • Relating work to jobs people do
  • Using multidisciplinary learning styles
  • Energizing children's minds, bodies, and souls
  • Developing creative potential & Scientific prowess
